Eligibility Requirements
Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology (RMSST) is a public high school (9th - 12th grades) designed for students who are curious about the scientific world, love to solve problems, seek a challenging academic environment, and can work independently, as well as in a group setting.
Eighth grade students must meet eligibility requirements to submit an application. Enrollment is based on a multi-criteria selection process.
To be considered for possible enrollment into the Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology, students must meet eligibility requirements by answering "yes" to all 3 of the following questions:
1: Are you currently enrolled in 8th grade?
2: Are you a resident of Rockdale County?
3: Answer yes to 1 or more of the following:
* Did you score 60+ on the 7th grade ITBS in Math
* Did you score 60+ on the 7th grade ITBS in Reading
* Did you score 550+ on the ELA Milestone
* Did you score 550+ on the Math Milestone
* Are you currently enrolled in High School Physical Science
* Are you currently enrolled in Algebra: Concepts and Connections
(all non-RCPS applicants must be enrolled in a high school Carnegie credit math and/or science course)
Students who are currently enrolled in a Rockdale County middle school (Conyers Middle, Davis Middle, Edwards Middle, or Memorial Middle), AND who were found to meet the eligibility requirements listed above, were mailed a letter inviting them to apply to Rockdale Magnet School for Science & Technology. These letters were mailed Friday, September 15, 2023.
