Our world-class learning community fulfills students' intellectual curiosity with
STEM.

Thank you for your interest in Rockdale Magnet School for Science & Technology. We hope you have had a chance to browse through our website to learn about our 4-year program. The Magnet School Flyer is another good source of information to learn more about RMSST. Our goal is to ensure that all students and families are provided the same level of information in order to successfully navigate the process. We look forward to assisting you and exposing you to all RMSST offers to students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering
& Mathematics.

Application Preparation
During the admission process, our goal is to find students who will thrive within our rigorous academic environment. With this in mind, we encourage 7th-grade students to rank at the 60th National Percentile or higher in reading or math for the ITBS and/or earn a 550 or higher in the Math or English Language Arts Georgia Milestone EOG. These test
measure what the student has learned and shows a general picture of their academic aptitude. If the student is unable to meet the score requirements. Have them enroll in Coordinate Algebra during their 8th-grade year. Good grades in this course will distinguish them from other applicants.

Please know that standardized testing is but one element of our comprehensive and holistic application review process.

Who may apply?

Students in Grade 8 who meet the eligibility requirements may apply to attend the following school year.

How do I learn more?
Each fall there is an informational session about the magnet program for interested students and their parents/guardians. Please check the exact date and time on our school calendar.  We run two meetings because of the large demand.

Application Process:
The application process begins in October when letters are mailed to eligible 8th grade RCPS students. RMSST students, teachers and administrators will share information about the school during the 8th grade Field Trips. Please view the RMSST timeline for more details about dates, times and locations.
